- Maintain optimal communication, close cooperation, and consultation with Perfusionist and Physicians during delivery of services.
- Maintain continuing education and clinical competencies related services provided.
- Assist with preparation and completion of lab tests approved by the facility laboratory manager.
- Provide autologous blood recovery and biologic therapy as required
- Maintain appropriate inventory, equipment, and maintenance of equipment. Assist with the transport of equipment and evaluation of new equipment or process.
- Understands and implements specific regulatory requirements associated with services provided.
- Completion of quality assurance protocols as established by the perioperative blood management program.
- Assist with preparation of the heart lung machine under direct supervision of the Perfusionist
- Maintain proficiency with the operation and maintenance of a variety of autologous blood equipment and procedures such as autologous cell salvage, production of concentrated platelet rich plasma
- Maintain appropriate, timely, and accurate documentation including pre-procedure checklist and filing of all records.
